Handling Situations with Less Stress
Here are a few great tips we found from Lynn Taylor - author of Tame Your Terrible Office Tyrant.
Be Honest. -
Admit that you need a question repeated or that you don't feel fully prepared for a spur of the moment conference call. It's better than risking a cover-up that doomed to fail.
Use your parenting skills. -
Just as you do with your kids, keep calm, try to anticipate difficult situations that might arise and have a sense of humor.
Act as a team. -
Point out that the department would benefit from a "pre-meeting" to collaborate on a presentation or call, as opposed to you preparing alone.
